Economics Is Essential For Students
We know that learning economics helps students understand our history, government and culture, but it also teaches them to be financially literate. Economic education helps students learn to make decisions about their personal and shared resources, to understand work and careers, and to develop the habit of critical thinking. Economic principles don’t just deal with money and jobs; they are at the core of decisions we make every day – decisions students will make to shape their lives, our state, and our nation.
We rely on schools to impart basic economic and financial literacy principles to students – and we work with teachers across the State of Ohio to support their work in economic and financial education.
The Ohio Council on Economic Education (OCEE) is the only statewide organization to advocate for both economic and personal financial literacy instruction for every student in Ohio.
OCEE is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, supported through public and private grants, contracts, and the contributions of Ohio citizens.
