Personal Finance Teachers Academy Programs

With the passage of Senate Bill 311, personal finance education has become mandatory for all Ohio high school students beginning in 2010. The Ohio Council on Economic Education and its network of Centers for Economic Education, the Ohio Department of Education, and the State of Ohio Treasurer's Office have come together to offer teachers appropriate training and resources to meet this requirement.

In the Summer of 2008 the Centers for Economic Education will conduct two-day Teachers Academy Programs, which will provide an overview of personal finance content and materials. Please contact your local Center to reserve a seat today! (For complete address and other Center contact information, or to see a listing of counties served by each Center, please click here.)

Additionally, the Ohio Council on Economic Education is offering a Teachers Academy in Southeast Ohio. Details are posted on our events page. For more information please call 614-292-1178, or click here to register.

Personal Finance Resources

Educators will find a variety of resources on our new Personal Finance page, from the module outlines provided to participants in the Teachers Academies, to links to active websites, and more. Please click on the piggy bank or follow the link above to begin exploring these materials!
